AI-Powered Budget Intelligence: Faster Insights, Better Outcomes

ANALYTICS

In May 2025, RQmedia rebuilt its internal budget management tool — a Google Sheets system powered by Supermetrics — with an AI layer using Google's Gemini models. The upgraded system automates anomaly detection, performance summaries, and next-step recommendations, flagging material changes in CPC, pacing, or conversion trends and delivering plain-English summaries to analysts and clients in near real time.
Freeing teams to do more
With repetitive reporting automated, capacity was reinvested into higher-value work: testing new campaign types, running faster bid and budget adjustments, and building more granular experiments such as segmenting campaigns by product line. The impact on the team has been lasting —  analysts can make real time decisions with confidence, and senior strategists have dedicated time for innovation.
The results

Across eight accounts where the AI workflow has been embedded since May 2025, the numbers speak clearly (YoY, May–Aug 2025 vs. 2024):

  • Trend detection cut from days to hours
  • CPC down 12%
  • Conversions up 47%
  • ROAS up 37%
  • Purchase revenue up 19.5% ($7.84M → $9.37M)
Real world example

During a major sale period in July 2025, the AI flagged a subtle anomaly: spend was up 7% while clicks had risen just 2%. Analysts investigated, identified slipping impression share due to heightened competition, and acted quickly — adjusting target ROAS and launching a dedicated new customer acquisition campaign for the product range. The result was a 13% lift in both impression and click share, conversions up 92%, and conversion value up 151% despite heavier discounting year-on-year.

Without the AI workflow, those auction shifts may have gone unnoticed until it was too late. Instead, an early warning became a sales-driving pivot.
